We will have @bboerst doing a mining demo for NashBitDevs Seminar 19 in May; May's Open House topic is Mining May so it fits perfectly for the month theme.

Adding this Issue early just to make a note of this ☝️

I'd like to take the opportunity to do a quick presentation on what's happening in the open-source mining space. Planning to keep it pretty introductory to mainly bring awareness to the scene and hopefully foster some interest in participating. Will touch on both the hardware and software aspects and maybe pass around some Bitaxe boards for hands-on. I think I could stick to 10-15m.

Slight change of plans for my presentation that I initially mentioned above... We have a ton of great topics so I'll keep it short.

I'd like to do a quick demonstration of Stratum V2. I'll lightly explain what the Stratum protocol is and then run each piece of the Stratum V2 Reference Implementation (SRI) live on my laptop along with a Bitaxe to mine with. Should take less than 10 mins.

I think Stratum V2 is a black-box for most people and I'd like to try to give our group at least a taste of what it is so that they can formulate opinions for themselves when they hear the topic come up in podcasts and media.

hey, I'm a Spiral grantee working on SV2 Reference Implementation (SRI) and I also host our local BitDevs in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Just stopping by to say I fully support this initiative and I'm available to help @bboerst with any questions anyone might have.

You can find me at the SV2 Discord, or as plebhash on Signal.

For everyone who's interested in the topic, I recommend checking out our Getting Started Tutorial.

Found a better summary of testnet 3/4 issue. Adding it here for reference. This article also likely referenced in genesis block of testnet4.

And here's a "beta" version of testnet4 on mempool.space (thanks to @Rob1Ham for pointing it out): https://mempool.space/testnet4

And Sparrow Wallet already supports it, no big deal, naturally https://github.com/sparrowwallet/sparrow/releases
