What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. advancedmenu full screen
2. flashing 1 second intervals on an lcd screen 
3. I have tried all video modes. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
solid screen, flashing screen the monitor losing its sync.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest x86 image

Please provide any additional information below.
