I love the name Proto. However, it could be a confusing name overlap with Protocol Buffers, which are often referred to as "Protos" and use a .proto file extension.

Does it matter? Is there another worthwhile name to consider?

Possibilities:

Simile
JZ (play on it being an evolution of JS?)
