I would like to add ruined buildings and wreckage for the environment to create an atmosphere of desolation and destruction during an alien invasion. The buildings would be dotted around the area, to give the impression the player is driving a streetcar through a ruined city. There may also be a flame effect added to them in unity to make it seem like the destruction just occured.

What is needed to implement the task?
3D models of destroyed and collapsed buildings or other wreckage. A basic flame particle effect. Knowledge for how to create said particle effect.
What is the biggest risk it will not get done?
I don't fully know how to create the desired particle effect, but I believe I have a way to learn a way to make one relatively easily.
Test case
1) Make building & wreckage models in Maya 2) Implement into Unity 3) Place models in the main scene 4) Create and add fire particle effect.
