Base map content type for site-wide base layers #106

Open peacog opened 1 year ago

peacog commented 1 year ago

Create a Base map content type for polygon data that will be shown in a layer on all maps. For example, the 1:50,000 UTM Map Sheet grid for Uganda is set out in individual kmls (one kml per map sheet) of which there are around 330. This data set comprises base-map material which is used to guide the user which map sheets a particular reserve falls into or across.

We would like to expose this data set across all maps as a single layer which can be turned on or off. The name of each sheet together with its sheet number is provided in the file name eg. label_14_ZULIA.kml is: Mapsheet name: Zulia Mapsheet number: 14

Hi @LeScruf we have base maps now on staging. I set up the UTM 50000 and Sector Boundary base maps. I haven't yet done the UTM 10000 as there are so many files. I'll will tackle them next.

Have a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Miriam, this is bananas! Nice one. Well done - if I may say so! Sorry for delayed reply - little plate loaded. I notice that the 1:10,000 layer isn't loading - yet - may be you're still working on that nut. Also, it occurs to me that we will need one further set of layers (!) - district boundaries (@senyonjo-edward will need to decide which version) and the international boundary just to delineate the canvas, and then I think that will be it.

I'm still working on the 1:10,000 layer @LeScruf . As for the others, send me the KMLs and I'll make it so.

@peacog As soon as I catch up with Edward the KMLs will be supplied. Have a good weekend!
