Forest Reserves overview: Overview map on main dataset listing view #7

Open LeScruf opened 1 year ago

This is for the map on the dashboard that shows all the CFRs on one single map.

There should be an interactive map on the main Forest Reserve list view (page) (https://brms.stg.envs.utils.nfa.go.ug/forest-reserves) above the filter(s). We should take as reference this: https://forests.nfa.go.ug/

Additional layers viewable and controllable through a layer widget control should include:

(This data will be provided - in the appropriate format - vector data is easiest)

For each CFR record, the interactive map needs:

A layer control widget to control the visibility of the following layers (the list may grow): Old polygon - in grey (coordinates) Newly digitized polygon - Cutline - solid line

All layers can be turned on and off at the layer control widget. A key security feature is that once uploaded, geospatial data cannot be removed from the system (without admin intervention). This ensures that data-tampering is more difficult to effect.

Provide a way to upload the kml and provide a polygon textarea.

@ygoex - yes I think this would be a nice touch (also perhaps reproduced in forests.nfa.go.ug - at least at the range level since the sector level is already covered through the Forest Management Plan level).

Comment merged from CFR Master Maps: List of additional features required for the interactive map of each CFR Master Map record (Map features)#22

We will need to add the following fields:

A field (taxonomy type, called Polygon descriptor) to the Geo-layer to flag the old maps. A field (status) defining if the maps is old or new. A taxonomy term for the descriptors:

Basemap type - Google or OSM
Water management zones
District boundaries
Roads
Settlements
Water bodies and rivers
Landcover series (multiple years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2017, 2019)
UTM Y733 1:50,000 series grid
UTM XXX 1:10,000 series grid

Hi @LeScruf . The forest reserves overview map is ready for testing at https://brms.stg.envs.utils.nfa.go.ug/forest-reserves. I have added some geolayers to Abera. You will see that the map layer control allows you to toggle on/off layer types.

Hi - apologies for delayed reply - I had looked at this quite some time ago. Looking good. I believe there are some missing base layers - e.g. Districts, Ranges and Sectors - but certainly nothing critical right now. Thanks!
