Specimens map not visible on Taxon page #2338

Description:

Hello, I am unable to see specimen maps on my Scratchpad (arcticplants.myspecies.info). All that is visible in the map box is "Javascript must be enabled to view map". However, I know I have Javascript enabled in my browser (Firefox 7.0.1) - and the specimen maps for the individual specimen pages work just fine. What is the best way to restore maps to my species pages?

Paul, I'm afraid the issue with that page is the "Taxonomy" Slickgrid/Editing block directly underneath the map. The Slickgrid/Editing blocks use additional JavaScript which appears to conflict with the Google Maps JavaScript. The map will work if you disable the Taxonomy block - something I would suggest doing anyway.

I am afraid I am going to have to mark this bug as "won't fix", as it will most likely be resolved by changes that we make when we move to Scratchpads 2.0.
