Description:

S.E.A.G http://insectafgseag.myspecies.info is ready for migration

informatics-dev commented 11 years ago

Comment by Dimitrios Koureas

Maintainer reported that after the migration the main menu hierarchy (called Contenu) does not expand correctly. Children items are not visible.

As reported in Redmine issue 2779 this node, http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/node/4, has a link to its parent in the breadcrumbs but is not listed under the parent.

Added another related migration issue.

There are duplicate PDF files (two of each).

You can view then via Content> Files types> Other http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/biblio?sort=desc&order=Year#overlay=admin/file/application

The files being listed twice is not an issue. They are listed twice because two different parts of the system are claiming them - the content with which they were associated, and the migration process which is keeping track of the files that were migrated (to easily be able to rollback/etc.).

When we switch to the live version (and disable the migration modules) this should go away.

To test this, I have manually removed the lock that the migrate module had on the first file - you can see that it is now gone, and there is only one copy of that file.

Issue Redmine issue 2779 is a tidy up/support issue, and the files being doubled will go away when we switch the site to live - so I'm switching this back to status 4. Migration was confirmed with no blocking issues.

h3. Quoting maintainer:

I have three main requests that remain (I can't solve them).
The first two are most, I mean, for the support team. The third, I don't know if it is related to the migration or not. My wishes are:

- when puting the size of the limit to 0 in table I can't obtain a table with transparent limit (not a very thin line, like now). I would like to do that to improve my layout on several pages. Please could you modify this for all the tables in the site?

- there seems to have a general problem to keep, the formating of the photos when I would like to put a 3 pixels of horizontal space around photos aligned (on the left or on the right with the text). see below my requests.

- the media gallery page is the most important issue for me that I have not solved. I don't know where and how I can begin.
What I wish is : when clicking on the "media gallery tab" to arrive to a page like that http://insectafgseag.myspecies.info/node/32
And FROM the link present on this page (and probably in the associate menu) to reach the main kind of galleries '(and after sub galleries) that we have (like here http://insectafgseag.myspecies.info/image/tid/12098)
Please could you explain me how to do that? Did you have something like a protocol to make a link to a gallery, to make a gallery, to make a subgallery with photos, etc...?

Please find here below the general check list of the reamining bugs to be solved.

A- Questions:
On the page http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/content/piton-rocheux-de-larmontabo :
- You can see one table including two photos. It is OK, it have not been modify during the migration.
What I can't understand is why this kind of formating have not been kept on other page where it exist (during the migration). But I have repaired the layout of these tables, now.
Please could you explain?

B- problem to set an horizontal space around photos (I would like 3 pixels at least around each photos aligned on the left or the right on the following pages:
For almost each childs pages related to the submenu "Membres actifs (like this http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/content/frédéric-beneluz):
- I would like to put the photo of the people aligned on the left, 5 pixels of space horizontally, and the text on the right.
But impossible to set the 5 pixels of space. When I do that, I loss the formating (align="left") even if I do that in hard under plain-text edition.
Please could you help?

On the page http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/node/6 :
- I have also try to put the first image aligned on the left, 5 pixel of space horizontally, and the text on the right.
It is not at 5 pixel of the left image.
Please could you help?

On the page http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/node/16 :
- For the last two photos on the page, I can't set the 5 pixel of horizontal space without loss the left alignment of the photos. (see coments here above).
Please could you help?

Comment by Dimitrios Koureas

The s1 version of the site uses nested galleries to categorize images (http://insectafgseag.myspecies.info/category/image-galleries/tous-les-albums/insectes-situ/insectes-de-guyane-situ/col%C3%A9opt%C3%A8res-de-guyane). The galleries have moved across but are empty and not nested (e.g. http://s2.insectafgseag.myspecies.info/gallery?f[0]=im_field_smg_galleries#overlay=node/1378/edit%3Fdestination%3Dadmin/content/media_gallery). As a result all images are located in a single gallery.

This should be subject to the availability of nested galleries in the new version

Can we overcome this issue?

informatics-dev commented 11 years ago

Comment by Dimitrios Koureas

quoting maintainer:

May be it could be helpful to recover at least the terminal galleries with their photos inside (= the galleries that are at the end of the hierachicalsystem in our old site version)?
informatics-dev commented 11 years ago

Comment by Alice Heaton

The issue was a obscured by the fact that there were two other issues affecting galleries (one which was migration related, one which wasn't). Those have been fixed - the result is as suggested by the maintainer: the inner most galleries have been kept.

Let me know if this is satisfactory.

informatics-dev commented 11 years ago

Comment by Alice Heaton

All issues should be fixed - can you check and let me know ? Thanks.

informatics-dev commented 11 years ago

Comment by Dimitrios Koureas

Maintainer responded that the galleries issue is fixed. The maintainer is actively reviewing the site
