Dear Jeremy,
the reason you are getting this erroneous nomenclatural annotation is because the breakdown of subspecific names in the relevant unit names in not correct.
For example the subspecies Calcidiscus leptoporus subsp. leptoporus is broken down to: Unit name 1: Calcidiscus Unit name 2: Leptoporus Unit name 3: ssp. Unit name 4: leptoporus
The ssp. indicator should be at the Unit name 3 indicator and not as a separate unit name. I edited this to be correct you can see the edited taxon name below:

Thanks Dimitrios I thought that should be a straightforward problem! I can easily sort that by downloading the taxonomy and editing it in excel. Jeremy

Description:
The nomenclature system is incorrectly formatting sub-species names, placing brackets around the species name (which would be correct for sub-genera in ICZN) E.g. Calcidiscus leptoporus ssp. leptoporus appears as Calcidiscus (leptoporus) ssp. leptoporus
(see http://nannotax.org.myspecies.info/extant-taxa/calcidiscus-leptoporus-ssp-leptoporus)
I think this should be an easy bug to cure as the taxonomy display is correct on other sites (eg Solenaceae) but I can't see any way to do it myself thanks Jeremy
