Add comment box to the bottom of the IUCN Red List assessment page #4244

Description:

For our site http://threatenedplants.myspecies.info/ we would like to have the option for users to comment on species pages - in particular the IUCN Red List assessment under the 'Descriptions' tab:

http://threatenedplants.myspecies.info/taxonomy/term/26498/descriptions

It just needs to be a simple comment box - see attached. If this could be ready for the NHM informatics day (24th july) that would be phenomenal. If not, I'll do a mock up.

Thanks team!

Steve

I am not certain how easy would be to enable comments on this page. Comments are usually attached to nodes and not views. I am assigning this to the dev team for feedback and estimate of difficulty.

The "Reply module":http://drupal.org/project/reply will allow us to add comments to any fieldable entity (Terms, Users, Nodes, etc), and may be suitable for this purpose. The comments would be associated with the term, and not the IUCN widget, but I suspect we could configure it so that you can decide on which tab to display the comments. The Reply module is in active development at the moment, and does not yet have a stable release, so I am going to postpone this issue until there is some progress there (feel free to occasionally prod/poke, especially if there is progress on the Reply module).

Reply module still in alpha 6 years later. I think we may have just missed NHM informatics day and as most enabled comments result in a load of spam, not sure this is worth doing anyway.
