can't download excel template - internal server error #6401

Open scratchpads opened 3 years ago

Description:

When I try to download an excel template to update an existing classification, the process completes to 100% but then apparently fails to write the file, and I get an 'internal server error'

therobyouknow commented 2 years ago

Sounds like a permissions issue on the server file system.

I'll arrange access for myself to check this and confirm either way. If it's not this, I'll advise and make a plan for further investigation.

Dear user, 2 things

1 - can you show me on what page you are attempting to Download on your https://waspweb.myspecies.info/ site? Then I can go there and recreate the issue myself to then test potential fixes.

I went to Classifications as you mentioned it, but could not see where to download, please advise:

2 - I now have server access,

@benscott assuming that this is the correct server path for the current live site, https://waspweb.myspecies.info/ :

/var/aegir/platforms/scratchpads-2.9.17.1/sites/waspweb.myspecies.info

... then do these permissions and ownership look sufficient for creation of files to download?

drwxrws---. 15 aegir apache 4096 Oct 7 05:05 files

Hi, @therobyouknow The path to follow for the export is a bit counterintuitive. It is not via Classifications but via Import -> Select import -> Taxonomy -> Excel file import -> Select vocabulary -> Myriatrix (in my case), maybe "Wasp classification" in WaspWeb -> Template -> "Excel template file for updating data already present on your site. Please ensure all data from your site is present in your downloaded file". In my case, I got "An internal server error occurred. Please try again later."

@therobyouknow, the old Scratchpads Team channel in Vimeo may be useful to you: https://vimeo.com/user1390789 In this case of exporting/importing a classification, there is one outdated but still useful video at https://vimeo.com/46818457 You could go directly to 01:12 to get a quick glimpse of the path, but not for reproducing this specific issue. Cheers!
