Can't add any widget nor (static) shortcuts #2081

Describe the bug Hello, I am a happy and grateful Kiss Launcher user. But I am unable to add any widget nor any shortcuts for a few months. I have regularly updated from f-droid and I am now on 3.19. I added 3 widgets with an old version (older than 3.16) a year ago, but since then I can only delete them, and I cannot add anything.

I have already remove and re-install Kiss Launcher several times without any success.

To Reproduce

  1. Go to Kiss Launcher menu
  2. Click on 'add a widget'
  3. Select a widget
  4. See that nothing happens. Kiss seems to reload. You don’t have any widget added.

Same story for any attempt to add a static shortcut to KL history.

Additional information

Additional context Samsung A20e, Android 11

Try installing Kiss Launcher 3.19.0 from Playstore instead of F-droid

Thanks @Livio78 for your post.

I have uninstalled the f-droid version and installed the playstore version (through aurora). However it does not work : when I try to add a widget the app crashes, or nothing happens.

Hello, I unistalled kiss launcher and installed back 3.16.10, and widgets work again. All following versions from 3.17 to 3.20, those with kind of widget preview, don't work on my phone (samsung a20e, android 11). So I will stuck some more time with 3.16.10, but I would be pleased if the bug could be solved.

I'm having the same issue too, I had widgets from a version I installed from fdroid almost a year ago but switched from fdroid to obtanium which gets the apk directly from github and I haven't been able to add widgets yet.

Kiss launcher the best I've ever used though regardless :) it'll be nice to have my clock/alarms back though
