Your game version v1.10.1.38.0 Expected version v1.10.130.0 Mod Configuration Menu will be disabled

I am computer illiterate so do feel free to talk down to me as long as you can tell me why I cannot use this mod with what I would have to assume would be the latest Fallout 4. I re-downloaded it (fallout 4) 5 days ago. I bought it 5 months ago. I added F4SE and this is the error message I get when loading from the f4se loader. launching any other way leads to no MCM.
I just wanna punish myself with all the challenges awaiting me. right meow

I'm going to go ahead and take a stab at this one. You said you re-downloaded the game (re-installed) from the version you had 5 months previous. If you are new to modding, most likely you installed fallout 4 script extender before but maybe didn't go back for the newer version this time. When you re-installed the game and re-installed F4SE, you likely tried to install the outdated version and this seems to be the case with MCM as well. So re-download the current versions of both F4SE and MCM. If this does not help may I suggest getting a cat.

Well played sir or madam. I have another issue for you now. If I start from the F4SE loader, no prob, but starting any other way leads to f4se not working and therefore mcm failing as well. I have remedied this issue by creating a shortcut to the f4se loader, but i wonder what the issue is here?
