Over the last few months that I've been watching this, a common question I hear is "How do I see how much my host is earning".
In the wallet activity, hosts can see the withdrawal activity but they do not get to see the return of the collateral and the earnings after the contract is complete. It is only reflected in "Host earnings" and the detailed reports in "host -v" I will admit, this confused me at first as well.
Here are a few examples of times I've linked to bug 1933:
Proposal: It would be nice to see wallet entries that show the return of collateral and earnings after the contracts are completed.
Overall, I find that once this is explained to users they understand it. But it can be a bit disconcerting, especially if hosts are trying to see if contracts are coming to completion and being renewed.
I should add that when I filed the aforementioned issue, wallet logging was near non-existent. Wallet logging has been much improved in later releases and gives hosts an option to search for it should they choose too.

Where can I see hosting payments?
Seeing "earned" SC on Hosting screen, not seeing incoming SC to wallet
