Can you provide any additional details about what codec is being used for the
.mkv
file you are trying to play? If the codec is h264/x264, please direct your
attention
to this FAQ article about the wii's ability to play this codec back:

http://code.google.com/p/mplayer-ce/wiki/h264

If that's the case, there isn't anyway this issue is going to be solved. Please
reply
with codec information.

i seem to be having the same problem except this only occurs with 720p mkv's
either it
does this or if it manages to get past this then there is a massive desync
between
video and audio where the sound keeps playing but picture freezes however if i
disable
frame dropping then the picture does not freeze instead it becomes incredibly
laggy. Oh
and this only happens with mkv's that are 720p or 1080p lower resolutions like
480p
mkv's play smoothly im currently using 0.75 in 0.76 when trying to play 720p
mkv's it
always brings up a DSI exception error and reloads

Just trying again to play mkv using flashdisk with FAT32. It works. But when
try to
play avi from HDD (NTFS) hang while Analyzing Stream. But not all avi make it
hang.

I'm having the same issue with a Ronin Warriors .mkv except that I've actually
gotten
it to play (sometimes- though rarely). It seemed like when I ran USB 2.0 test a
couple times and tried to load the .mkv it occasionally would load. If i
stopped the
file, however, it would hang at "analyzing stream" when I try to restart it.
So I've
seen the entire video once and know it runs fine off my harddrive - though not
every
time (not even close to every time).
USB test says I'm running at 100% compatibility
cIOS202 v2 installed
Mplayer CE 0.76
any ideas?
