Uhmm, very strange issue, do you have cios202 installed (hermes or official)?
DVDx or DVDx2 ?
At now hermes cios fix ios reload problems with official cios202. I'll port
hermes
cios changes soon.

Only DVDx installed through install of homebrew. Didn't understand what 'fake
bug
sign' meant so have not played with any other ios installs.
Now tried it with a USB stick - it works.
Solution = leave a USB memory stick in the back of the wii!

This may sound nutty, but even a USB wireless keyboard receiver works! I have
system
4.2, dvdx v2 installed via hbc installer, and mplayer ce 0.76. Program only
loads
when I have either usb drive or wireless keyboard receiver plugged in. Keyboard
is a
Dell OEM that came packaged with a desktop PC. I use it mainly for Wii Internet
Browser.

I have 2 Wii's - 1 using System Menu 3.4U, the other using System Menu 4.2U.
The
Wii with System Menu 3.4U worked perfectly, but the 4.2U would constantly
freeze at
the loading Mplayer .76 screen. Here is what fixed the problem for me.
First you
should have the Homebrew Browser installed (obviously). When I ran the Hackmii
installer, it gave me the option to install the Homebrew Browser, BootMii, and
DVDx. Make sure that DVDx is installed. Then download AnyTitleDeleterMOD.
Make
sure you get the MOD version of AnyTitleDeleter as it will show you the actual
names
of the IOS'. Then (on a clean SD card) copy the software to your SD card.
Launch
the Homebrew Browser, and then launch AnyTitleDeleteMOD. Scroll through until
you
find IOS202. Delete IOS 202. IMPORTANT, MAKE SURE YOU ONLY DELETE IOS202 AS
DELETING SOMETHING ELSE MAY BRICK YOUR WII. I will not be held responcible if
something goes wrong!! Exit AnyTitleDeleteMOD. Try to open Mplayer CE .76.
It
should open now!
