Option For Subtitles Off By Default #539

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Play a DVD
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The movie plays and I have to go into options and turn the subtitles off. I
would like to see an option in one of the settings files that makes
subtitles off by default, allowing me to go into options and turn them on
if needed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
.76

Do you have a modchip?
No

Please provide any additional information below.
I would like to see a setting in one of the .conf files to turn subtitles
on any media off by default, but leaving me the option to turn them on
later if needed.

I would still like to see this feature in future versions so the confusion is
avoided, but I made a working but dirty hack in the menu.conf file to solve this
problem (line 49 of the menu.conf file):

<e name="Play DVD" ok="menu hide
                sub_visibility 0
        loadfile dvd:// "/>

So for anyone wanting to turn subtitles off by default on DVD, try this.
