PWAs are now being adopted by almost every website/business/startup, it can perform most tasks like that of a native app, however, it can't perform everything which the latter can. So do you think that this barrier can be overcome in the future and gradually the concept of native apps would entirely be erased by the progressive use of Progressive Web Apps ?
IMO - No, PWA can't replace the Android App entirely as of now.
Why?
Native apps require a lot of APIs and access to the device to provide the user app full of features. But PWA doesn't have these much APIs expose to it.
cross-OS + browser support of PWA is not good. As in native apps - we have IOS and Android but in PWA the 'install' feature, 'offline' feature is dependant on the OS + browser you are running. If that support is missing then nothing can't be done.
Awareness of education around PWA is missing from non-tech users. They know about Apps but not about PWA
Performance issues too in PWA which is not the case with native apps.
