How important are data structure and algorithm if you are applying for a frontend/full stack developer role? Do product base companies recruit you on the basis of your development skills or DSA?

In my experience, if your portfolio and UI skills are good. Companies are okay to ignore the DS and Algo skills. Especially if you have good years of experience in hand. Product base companies or non-product based companies do look for development skills first. In a few interviews, I told the company that I am not into algo-ds. They told me it is fine...we will just look into your UI skills.

Nowadays, most of the organizations do ask for algo-ds skills. If you are starting your career do invest time on it. It is going to help you not just cracking the interview but in doing the programming in a better way & this will make you stand apart from the crowd.
