Windows 7 issue #38

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Svn checkout
2. Entered http://ro-rail.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
3. Waiting for dowloads

What is the expected outcome? What do you see instead?
Error message :
Can't create the folder USER_AI
Acces denied even if I am in administrator mode.

Is your RO installed in the Program Files directory? this seems to give issues.

As an option you can create the folder manually (right click -> New -> Folder)
then you can right click the newly created folder and do SVN Checkout there.

Hi,

Yes, it's in the : program file directory.
No, even if I create the folder, I had the same error.
This could be a hit : when SVN began to download it always tell me "USER_AI is
not empty do you want to continue ?" It's weird since even when there is no
folder, it will ask me that and also when I create a new folder >_<

I even tried to launch in administrator mode or check the compatibily box since
SVN is not originally created for windows 7 but it didn't work either...

I hope we will find together the answer because your AI is awesome for my Leaf
:D

Well it is very recommended for you to reinstall Ragnarok outside the program
file directory, because even if you get the AI from another source that's not
SVN, later when using it, RAIL might have issues gaining access and writing
files.

PD: And yes, the AI is awesome =D

Hi,

I had to activated the administrator account on windows 7 and to install SVN
under it to be able to use it otherwise I would encounter many problems because
of the administrator mod.

Have you tried installing RO outside of the "Program Files" directory yet? What
is the verdict? Also, you should not have to install SVN as the "Administrator"
user. It should only be a problem if you regularly run as a standard, non-power
user. Is that the case?

Hi,

At the begining, to resolve all my problems, I had to install it with the
administrator account.

Second, then after installing it I noticed that a file was missing, so I moved
my Ro folder out of the program files. After I moved it and logged in Ro, the
file finally apperead :)

That's all of my report :D

Have a good day!

p.s : if you do a GUI please try to do like Mirai because other AI GUI are not
really user friendly :(
