IO Exception: Broken Pipe on Restore #694

Open whitedavidp opened 1 year ago

whitedavidp commented 1 year ago

Description Running on Android x86 Pie (9) within a VirtualBox. I originally took the backups (both data and app) from another device - also Android 9, trying to move here.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Try to Restore an app - in this case Tasker, both app and data.
  2. After a while I get restore failed, IO Exception: broken pipe.
  3. A check shows the app is restored. But under /data/data there is only the topmost folder for the app's data.

Expected behavior I hoped to get both app and data fully restored.

I guess you don't use Magisk?

other su solutions should work since 8.2.1

8.2.4 should work for your purpose, though it has a bug with duplicate running schedules

Hi Harold and thanks. On some devices I use Magisk and Neo seems to work fine there. I am setting up a device with Android x86 and this is where my problem occurred. Android x86 comes rooted and therefore no Magisk is needed (kind of like the good old days of SuperSu). I installed the latest. Seems to solve the problem!

Thanks alot!

8.2.5 is out...take this

Thanks. I will check that out. The latest I found at F-Droid was (and still is) 8.2.4. Cheers!

oh, you are right, f-droid did not create a new version, yet, I saw it on IzzyOnDroid (looks similar on via NeoStore). Then wait a few days...
