I got confirmation that Jute Gyte was known in the doomworld circle, and in the OA forums his nickname was just "jute". ... and that those musics will not be reused in OA3.
By the way, I noticed there is some kind of "source" for OA 0.8.8 musics, too: https://openarena.ws/svn/source/assets/music/jutegyte/oa_music_src.zip https://web.archive.org/web/20230207145902/https://openarena.ws/svn/source/assets/music/jutegyte/oa_music_src.zip It's a series of .wav files with individual instruments that were used to make the various tracks. Maybe adding such stuff into OACMP sources might be overkill, I guess we might still include the URL?
Beta version 230430 includes music/OA03.ogg, which I guess has been taken from https://openarena.ws/svn/music/
OpenArena SVN repository has got 14 .ogg files there:
While OpenArena 0.8.8 has only got 8 background music files
I guess some were left on the cutting floor...
So, for properly credit OA03.ogg creator in OACMP readme file, how to write? Just "OpenArena Team"? The metadata of those .ogg files mention "Jute Gyte" as artist. I have no idea whether he was someone with a nickname on the OA community.
On a side note about the other background musics (the other OACMP Vol1 maps rely on stock OA 0.8.8 .ogg files), the way the engine loads the music it automatically searches for both .wav and .ogg if no extension is provided. In oacmpdm10 I didn't specify .ogg IIRC, but I simply set music/OA01. https://openarena.fandom.com/wiki/Mapping_manual/Troubleshooting#Sound_effect_or_background_music_not_played So, in theory, omitting the .ogg in worldspawn entity might still allow background music to be played in the future in case OA3 will not have those .ogg files anymore, but might have tracker music files with the same names and just a different extension (guessing Fromhell engine will search for tracker, then wav and ogg in case you don't specify an extesion). I have no idea what will be Leilei's choices in that regard, but she wasn't very fond of the .ogg files and she was planning to move to tracker format IIRC.
