Is your tweak request related to a problem? Please describe.

When a user plays Neos VR in VR mode for the first time, can it be displayed in windowed mode on the desktop screen?

I hold an event every week to guide beginners to NeosVR. When I talk about the "desktop" in the dash menu, most people say "NeosVR is full screen so I can't do anything".

Describe what would you like tweaked

The first time a user launches NeosVR in VR mode, it should launch in windowed mode on the screen.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Create a button in VR that allows they to switch to window mode. (In my experience, 70% of people don't know that they can press Alt + Enter to switch to windowed mode)

Additional context

none

If this change can't be added, I propose adding an Alt key to the default keyboard, to allow people to discover alt tabbing off of the neos window.

That or have it a settings option, since I had to be told I could 'unfullscreen' the system with Alt+Enter. You can't just expect people to know this.

This would be probably best as an option yes. Starting in windowed mode is tricky as well, given the new Desktop mode which allows switching dynamically and can create some usability issues (e.g. recording and streaming), so being able to switch between two is important either way.

I'd like to rework the Settings relatively soon, I think it's probably best to wait for that, not sure if this is an urgent problem to require alternate solution before that.

We do not expect people to know the shortcut, it's just a working solution you can use in the meanwhile.

This issue came up again earlier today- the context was that a user was trying to use the desktop tab, but as Neos was full-screen that was all they could see/interact with at first, not knowing/realizing they could press the Windows key button to get access to their taskbar.

This is also something I ran into a lot which is what had prompted me to use Neos in a window at all times.
