Failure to receive invites to worlds

Describe the bug

I'm not getting invites to worlds. Edit: I am informed by friends that I'm not getting direct messages either, though this seems intermittent. UPDATE: I manually logged out from the Home menu and was logged out, but still connected, with my avatar and worlds intact. CLosed the client, then logged back in again through the dash (not through Steam) and received several days worth of messages and invites.

1) Be me. 2) Ask to be invited. 3) Fail to get invitation, assume none sent. 3(a) Sad because you think you're being ignored.

Expected behavior

Being politely turned away from joining social events rather than being apparently completely ignored without explanation.

Hello. I'm sorry to hear about your issues, but unfortunately I'll need more information to help diagnose the cause.

Can you please share any logs from sessions when you didn't receive the messages/invites?
Do you have to completely log out in order to receive the missed messages or is restarting Neos sufficient to have them delivered?
When you do not receive messages, is it only from a specific user or all users (meaning, do some messages arrive, while others don't)?

1) I will try and find the logs, but considering the time span it happened and the nature of the problem I can't be sure of which logs would have the issue. I am concerned the best I can do is give you the logs for my entire past week? 2) I had to completely log out within Neos. I have shut down the Neos client and logged out of steam and even restarted my computer several times during the effected period. 3) Multiple users, but not consistently the same users.

Hey @Frooxius - I believe this is a duplicate of #1922. I re-opened that issue a little bit ago.

There is unfortunately nothing in the logs of either Cyro or I from when it happened to us. He needed to restart his client for the messages to display.

As far as I'm aware it was just from me to him, but I don't know with certainty because he just might not have received other messages during that time before we caught on.

Hmm, you can send all the logs, but that will make finding the cause substantially more difficult. If you could take note when this happens again and send corresponding log for that, that could help quite a bit.
Hmm this is quite strange. Neos doesn't even use Steam at all for any of this functionality. So if I understand correctly, simply restarting Neos itself won't make the messages load?

@shiftyscales Maybe yeah. One thing that's a bit strange though is that it sounds like a simple restart of Neos doesn't fix the problem though.

Due to the nature of the bug - the absence of replies and invitations - it is difficult to pinpoint when it occurs, but I will do my best to be alert for it and send a log along when it next happens.
Yes, I restarted Neos several times this week - even restarted my computer - and messages did not show up until I fully signed out and back in.
