Badges aren't meant to be dynamic status indicators. We don't need badges for VR users, or if you have eye tracking, mouth tracking, if you have a hapic suit, ect x3 it's unnecessary and shouldn't effect social interactions

Well, not all badges affect social interaction. Like MMC participation, year joined, pro user... I still think we don't need a desktop mode badge.
I don't really see need for this kind of badge. Typically you can tell that someone is in the desktop by how they interact or they just tell you. I don't think adding this would justify the extra clutter it would add.
Why do you need a visual indicator if someone is in VR or not?
yeah this really doesn't make sense I do get some people that Fink I'm in VR mode due to how my hand moves so that's the tiny bit of credibility for this
It's also worth noting that users can make their own indicators for VR/Desktop mode using LogiX nodes like https://wiki.neos.com/User_VR_Active_(LogiX_node) or https://wiki.neos.com/User_Active_View_Targetting_Controller_(LogiX_node)

Describe the solution you'd like
I think it would be useful to add a badge to indicate a user is not using VR, since that distinction affects interactions with other players. It seems like the kind of thing there would be a badge for, and I was surprised to see on the wiki that there isn't one.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I can't think of any way to answer this question.
