neosvr-api.com Certificate has expired #3602

no longer have a secure connection to neosvr-api.com because SSL has expired. is neosvr-api.com Deprecated?

I was going to use bug for issue, but I didn't feel it was appropriate, so I chose the discussion tag.

Goal of discussion

Can I continue to use neosvr-api.com?

I want to renew neosvr-api.com certificate.

To my knowledge, yes. You should be using api.neos.com instead. (Like so: https://api.neos.com/api/users/U-Neos/status )

From May 20th, 2021:

  • Moved Neos API endpoint to api.neos.com (endpoint setup by @Karel | CEO) -- The API will remain available on the old domain for a while, but will disappear at some point, so we recommend migrating ASAP

This issue is currently affecting new user signup confirmation.

When signing up, a user is sent an email verification link: image

This URL redirects to the neosvr-api.com:

Resulting in an end user seeing this when trying to verify their account: image

Changing that url manually in the URL bar to have the domain be api.neos.com did let me complete verification, but that's not really a good thing to have users be made to do as a stopgap

Should we split this up? We could do:

  1. All issues involving the expiry here - Hard to track, hard to assign, hard to read through
  2. Each issue involving the expiry has its own number - Easy to track, easy to assign, potentially hard to search, easy to read through.

I think this issue is just a discussion thread, so it's better to separate issue if this one causes a bug. and if this issue closed, thread is not locked so we can discuss continuously.
