Finger Camera Frame shortcut/gesture behaves improperly for Vive Wand users #859

Instead of pointing up with left hand, and left with right hand, you can point left with left hand, and up with right hand, to easily and reliably trigger the finger photo gesture while using vive wands. Actual hand position appears to be agnostic to avatar (tested on multiple avatars). Conversely using the expected/described methodology (that other controller types use) does not reliably trigger the gesture.

  1. hold hands out in front of you, palms facing forward, index fingers pointing upward
  2. rotate left wrist counter clockwise so that left index finger is pointing left

See screenshots showing avatar hand positions and controller positions relative to the same. Photo in Ark's Treehouse Headless Photo in Ark's Treehouse Headless2

I believe this is supposed to be kind of 'reversed' where you point up with your left hand, and left with your right hand?

SO IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE!!!

For real though, I never would have guessed that would work, that's amazing.

Right? I thought it was the avatar itself having weird hands but nope! Turns out vive controllers are just weird with the camera gesture overall

So while messing with this a little more, I found that this is possible using this methodology on at least Oculus controllers through SteamVR, and it makes the gesture way easier to perform, my previous issue was that I couldn't go higher than a 90 degrees angle up since my thumb would be too close to my index finger, however using this it works perfectly fine at any angle I go at.
