I've added a new section in the advanced appearance options called "Tile design", where you can change some design settings.
"Individual tile shape" allows you to choose to have rounded rectangles for tiles (individuals only). This does not work in combined mode - combined mode is 3 boxes joined together so it would look pretty weird having them three separate rounded rectangles. I have not been able to find a way to only do the outer corners.
The second option is "Display sex of individual" which lets you decide how to convey the sex of an individual. Options are a stripe (current default for Decorated diagram style), coloured border, text (the word "Male", "Female", etc), and an option to not display sex at all (similar to current but without the stripe).
Not all combinations work, but I have not disabled any combinations yet.
