Like what Android 10 has(At least on Samsung) where you can have reminders for unopened/unread notifications. This would be helpful for the desktop app, being told every hour or so that you still have unread notifications by either a sound or another notification if notifications are enabled. This is helpful if you fell asleep for like 2 hours and your friends wanted to contact you and you forgot you had friends.
This could also be used to have reminder notifications for specific servers if you want to know that people want you in them. It would also be handy to add the TeamSpeak poke feature like this. Limited to friends to prevent abuse and a rate limit. You could allow bot users to send a notification to someone when they released a feature/update or when they won something.
Adding to the complexity you could add a work time or several to prevent getting them during that period so that you wouldn't get distracted when needing to concentrate.
