Question: Explanation to modules and OS #76

I am sking if the mconf-web module is the same as VCC (Global Plaza) and as
Mconf-Server and all of them have their code checked in
https://github.com/mconf/mconf-web.

The installation guide "https://github.com/mconf/mconf-web#readme" doesn't
"look like" a setup for a running instance like http://globalplaza.org/, does
it?

Coud you please make clear what module does what, wehre to find souce code and
what parts aren't opensourced?

Tx for contribution, nice piece of software anyway.

And not sure what modules/parts you're refering to.

Mconf-web is a fork of VCC (also called Global Plaza, the web application you
see at http://globalplaza.org/). So the base of Mconf-web is exactly like the
VCC application, it *contains* all the VCC code in it (i.e. you don't need to
clone VCC, only Mconf-web).

The guide at https://github.com/mconf/mconf-web#readme will help you setup your
development environment and the code at https://github.com/mconf/mconf-web is
enough to set it up.

The license used for Mconf-web is the same used for VCC, and you can find it at
https://github.com/mconf/mconf-web/blob/master/COPYING

Anyway, I've updated the wiki to explain this a bit better.

Thanks for explaining. That is what i guessed, but now i am sure.
Would you please extend your doc for a part that explains how the mconf-web can
be hosted, i mean a installation guide for the web application with
preconditions for the operating system (e.g packages needed) and recomended
configuration.

Best would be if you relate to the "redmine" installation guide wth standard
paths, which is described here.
http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineInstall

Tx a lot for this niece piece of software and ur work at contributing.

We are currently (for the first time) creating a production server for
Mconf-web, and several things are having to be adapted to do that. We will do a
step-by-step guide as soon as we have our server working 100%. For now there is
only the REAMDE file to help set up the environment.

Thank you for pointing out this redmine guide, it is indeed very nice to take
it as a base for our guide.

We've put up a guide that helps with the deployment of Mconf-web:
http://code.google.com/p/mconf/wiki/MconfWebDeployment

For now, it's very strict to the system/softwares we use in our current
deployment server.

We will soon also provide a virtual machine with Mconf-web already installed
and configured, using this setup as well.
