Upload Rules Button Not Visible #9

Page: Uploading a new Active IQ rules file - I have version 9.10, 9.10P1, and 9.11RC1 AIQUMs and none of them have the Upload Rules button mentioned on the Storage Management > Event Setup page.

Hi John, thanks for raising this issue. Please check this screen grab where the button is seen. Please check if this button is visible on your system. I am keeping this issue open to check with the team on whether this button is visible in certain conditions and is not available in some other.

This one is from a 9.10 AIQUM – image And this one is from 9.10P1 – image

As you can see, none of them have the Upload Rules button. These screengrabs were done with Edge as the browser, but I have seen the same thing with Chrome.

I will go to the engg team for this, however, the topic mentions this:

Active IQ portal event reporting must be enabled. This feature is enabled by default. For information, see Enabling Active IQ portal events.

Can you please ensure that this setting is enabled on your side?

Hi John, I did get back to the team about this behavior and here is the engineer's feedback:

"This is expected and legacy behaviour in openlab systems where rules will be updated automatically once every day. As update happens automatically, we do not provide explicit button to upload rules and that’s legacy behaviour. The Upload Rules button is provided to support systems behind network which need explicit upload as internet access is blocked."

Because this has been raised by you, I will add this information in the 9.12 UM docs, so that there is no more confusion.

If you look at the screenshots, you will see that event reporting is enabled.

Hi Manini,

Our rules are not getting updated automatically. Both my 9.10 and 9.10P1 AIQUMs are stuck at ruleset 260 and have not updated to 305 or beyond.

Hi John, this issue is identified in a recent BURT and the workaround is available at this link:

This issue has been resolved in Active IQ Unified Manager 9.11 RC1. I am closing this doc query. For further queries, you can raise a support ticket.

Manini, this should not be closed because the procedure you refer to is incomplete. It tells you to download the new rule set, then update the rule set using a file on the ova. It does not tell you how to get the rule set on the ova. I will experiment with this, but the procedure needs to be complete before anything is closed.
