Feedback on Identify the connection method #136

Summary

Hello Team,

I don’t believe we can use the public method outlined in our documentation today: https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/bluexp-backup-recovery/task-backup-onprem-to-gcp.html#identify-the-connection-method

I believe the only method today to backup on prem OnTap to GCS is with the private connection method, leveraging VPN or Cloud interconnect through Google Private Access, as outlined on the page.

The public method might start working when 9.14.1 is released, if the ktls change to add SNI headers makes it into that release.

Public issues must not contain sensitive information

I have replied to the submitter of this issue (Trevor Thompson) to see why he thinks this configuration is not supported. We have had this support in the docs for many years, so I'm not sure what changed. I'll report back...

I heard back from the product team that this configuration should work and that the PM (Jacob) will need to talk with the submitter (Trevor) to see what is going on here. I'll wait to see what they have to say before making doc s updates ot closing out this issue.

Update: Trevor and Jacob will meet soon. Then I'll see about updates to the docs.
