can we please add another question about what will happen when we reach the license limit with cloud data sense in the FAQ? for ex: if a custy has 50TB BYOL and they reach the limit what happens? i know we pop a warning, but would like to know if they will be switched to Paygo if they scan beyond 50TB....

Hi Sabari, Good point. The customer will be switched to PAYGO when their BYOL expires. I noticed in our Backup docs we have a thorough explanation of what happens in the section BYOL license considerations. How about if I adopt some of this content in the Data Sense licensing topic?

thanks for a quick revert. My question is a situation wherein their BYOL is still valid, however they reached the license limit for scan. do we allow them to scan beyond the BYOL? and charge em PAYGO for those additional capacity scans?

to your point, absolutely yes, it is good to document the details on PAYGO switch when BYOL expires. so thanks for the additional detail and help. :)

Hi Tom,

thanks for getting back, my question is, what happens when BYOL license is still active however they have reached the license limit in size. Will we continue to scan or we stop scanning?

Hi Sabari, I see I missed part of your question. Whether you hit the limit by reaching the expiration date, or by reaching the max amount of data to scan, both are considered "license expired". I think it stops scanning, but I am double-checking with the team and I will let you know - and update the doc.
