Install BlueXP classification on a host with no internet access

Summary

See the below table from the doc. A customer is wanting to know why the change was made so they can ask the firewall team to open the ports.

Connection Type | Ports | Description -- | -- | -- Connector <> BlueXP classification | 8080 (TCP), 6000 (TCP), 443 (TCP), and 80 | The security group for the Connector must allow inbound and outbound traffic over ports 6000 and 443 to and from the BlueXP classification instance. Make sure port 8080 is open so you can see the installation progress in BlueXP.

Hi MrObvious, This port is required in a dark site environment because the cc-charger service is running on port 6000 of the Connector instance. For the system to function properly, it's essential that this port remains open, otherwise the charging mechanism will not work properly.

Tom,

Thanks! What is the cc-charger service?

netapp-tonacki commented 10 months ago

Hi, I don't know 100% what this service does, but it is the link to the Digital Wallet service in order for the Data Sense BYOL license to work in a dark site.

Ok thanks Tom. I wonder if it's worth adding to the documentation?
