The SNMPv3 INFORM destination could be improved as there has been some confusion around where the Authoritative EngineID is generated.
From my understanding, in typical communication between an agent (GRID in this case) and a management station (external SNMP server/application), where the agent receives SNMP queries such asGETorSETthat require a response, the agent is the authoritative engine because it must reply to the message. However, if the agent sends the management station an Inform, the management station becomes the authoritative engine because it must reply to the Inform.
I believe our documentation could be more clear about the Authoritative EngineID needing to be from the user configured on the external management station, as we don't generate the unique EngineID for INFORMs.
