Various pages talk about component limits (connections, volume sizes, etc.) but there's no the maximum node limit for SG appliances mentioned on this page or other related pages such as https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/storagegrid-118/storagegrid-hardware.html https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/storagegrid-118/expand/deploying-new-grid-nodes.html

I also did not see it in the KB (which is hard to search, so I can't say whether it's there or not) or HWU.

If the information is available elsewhere the docs should say where to look. As the maximum number of nodes doesn't change often, it's reasonable to expect to find it in the SG docs or even product brochures.
