Move to gradle 2.2.1 to align with most of the rest of the OSS projects. Doesn't look like this is doing much in the way of publishing so left of the nebula.netflixoss.
Also fixed high priority findbugs warnings that the upgrade discovered. There are some more warnings that I left in place.
