The version is still 1.8.6.

Software distributed by the Ubuntu follows its feature freeze release policy, which means new upstream releases after the freeze deadline of the specific Ubuntu release will not be shipped.

If there's a bug that has a great impact on the user experience, please file a bug report against the wsdd2 Ubuntu package on Launchpad instead and the package maintainer may backport the fix to the in-repo version.

Since Ubuntu 24.04 has shipped and (along with previous non-LTS releases after 22.04) includes 1.8.7, can likely close this issue at this point?
