I've updated _ensureLocalPerspective and _addAllToDAG to work with the fixed _merge. Could you rebase and apply the changes the copies of these functions as well? See 6672603d.

It seems to work indeed. I have rebase master_remote on master and added one more commit. Please review? ;)
