Questions: why only discrete (ie, sine 1, cos 1, sine 2, cos 2) completed cycles? what about other potential frequencies of drift that aren't necessarily explicitly complete cycles on the duration of the timeseries? Seems like this could miss a lot. maybe this fits less noise? not sure yet. learning about fourier transform as we speak, so maybe in 2 weeks will know more.
