How to get event markers in the LFP viewer? #19

This is more of a question than an issue: with my plugins (eg spwfinder) the events get recorded however there doesn't seem to be a marker (like the yellow strip). What is the correct way to emit an event in order to see the markers? I used to get them but that changed at some point with the GUI evolution...
