It would be nice to add some text to the extension tutorial https://nwb-overview.readthedocs.io/en/latest/extensions_tutorial/extensions_tutorial_home.html I think this could either be a separate section or if its a small par, it could be part of one of the existing sections. If there is existing documentation on ndx-template itself for this, then we could just point there.
