LIDAR example code fails to run in BS V 0.2.29 #11

after loading BS I go to Add Device, Lidar I select either /dev/ttyACM1 or /dev/ttyACM0, but have tried both it says it has a lidar in the device manager

tutorials tab is on page at url "https://gist.github.com/MazonDel" console displays the following.

console displays the following

run button is clicked. changes to stop. nothing happens. no additional info in console. no script name appears next to run button.

Check for bug resolution in 0.3.1, close this issue if it is resolved
