MB: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming CPU: i7-7700 Ram: 16 GB OS: Custom Build Win10 17134-2 load into Ram GPU: ASUS ROG-STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING/ Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1070 Ti Gaming AV Amp: Pioneer LX-901 Player: Potplayer 1.7.14804 + LAV 0.73.1 + madvr 0.92.107 NVIDIA Driver Version: 417.35

Hi everyone, me and my friend got some strange A/V sync issues or drop-outs. I had tried with two different GPUs and I got two different results. As loading a custom built windows improves the sound a lot, I load a custom build windows everytime when I watch movies. The way I do it is by installing the custom built windows to a VHD then load that into the RAM. The size of the VHD is 7 GB. On the other hand, me and my friend both use ASUS 10 series cards with similiar computer components and got similar silences during playback. He had silences during playback in both a normal OS and RAMOS. Those silences would not occur if I watch Netflix while bitstreaming Dolby Atmos (DD+).

Case 1 (ASUS ROG-STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING): With this card, I got some silence during playback of files (BDMV/mkv). It is about a split of a seconds. The content of that split of second will be silence and then playback will go back to noraml without any sigficant sync issues. To my obsevation, it happens at exactly 7 mins of a file. After the first silence, it will occur randomly. I see no pattern in it. The GPU is not under heavy loading. The loading of the GPU is well under 80-90%. There are no significant sync issues with this card. My wild guess of those silences are when the card wants to make correction to the sync. I had tried turning on/off "Auto A/V sync correction". The results are the same. I had tried newer versions of LAV with no hope.

Case 2: (Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1070 Ti Gaming): With this card, there is no silence during playback. However, this card has serious sync issues. After a certain period of playback, the sound and the video will be out of sync. I need to pause the playback in order to re-sync. I had tried turning on/off "Auto A/V sync correction". The results are the same. In my rough obsevation, I found that Dolby contents (Truehd, Atmos) are more likely to have such issues.

Sorry for my English. Hope someone can help me with my problem. The problem really drive me nuts. Thanks a lot!

Audio dropouts with bitstreaming Dolby Atmos is listed as a known issue for last few NVIDIA driver releases. You could try much older driver (early 2021).

Also, 0.73.1 is very old. First, try to update to 0.76.1.

Sorry, I forgot to include this in the theard. I had tried different version with no hope.
