not sure how to do this - but a place to start the planning as IAPW we use the projects for everything and customize the field version to be very lightweight

easy. just put physical assets in an ignored directory (ex. assets - so assets/uav or assets/photos ) and make sure that layer is turned off on the last sync to the server
