- Groot sites - UBR upstream of Perow (Gibbs) ~ 1 km Roger is open to fencing. Previously LGL structures/willow staking done
- Maxan along restoration sites ~3 km. Need to get Marvin Strimbold's thoughts. Need careful planning to effectively exclude cattle/where tie the fencing in
- Ailport near the mouth. Need to talk to Kal
Other fencing notes
- We'll need to be a little flexible with set backs, some areas the landowner might request keeping it pretty tight, but in other areas they might be ok with a 30-50 m setback
- Fencing takes a lot of maintenance so it'll help if it's a sweet deal for landowners
- Roger Groot is available in the fall to complete fencing projects, could expect him to do 1-2 km depending on terrain/access
Maxxan – push the river into the old channel habitats – Strimvold Byman – old stream channels – spread it out and not affect the higways Richfield – got to the canyon Johnny David - Groot Ailport – really cobbly – live staking is a challenge – buy in from Kal for below highway to the mainstem of Bulkley
UBR - Groot sites upstream of Perow. Lower and upper sites pretty good soil for stingers; willow were impacted by 2021 drought so could get more willow planted in there. Middle site is high up from river, cobbly, not stinger friendly but conifers are doing well so could plant more.
