I too would like full 10 second countdown. My additional suggestion as
mentioned in the forum discussion is a double bip at 5 seconds as a mental sync
point should you lose count during the countdown.

bertrand you was faster :)
bdw here with audio and voice mod, there is some bug.
at 30s the voice says 20 second
at 20s the voice says 10 seconds
from 10s there are no voice and it beeps each second down to 0s
form 0s down, the beep tone was changed
simu r2413:
playFile("0503.ad4") 30s
playFile("0502.ad4") 20s
playFile("0501.ad4") 10s
playFile("0500.ad4") 3s
playFile("0500.ad4") 0s
playFile("0500.ad4") -2s
simu r2430:
playFile("0502.ad4") at 30s
playFile("0501.ad4") at 20s
then no voice any more.

I avoided the renumbering which was needed for my change. But for 10 .. 9 .. 8
.. 7 => 0, I think it's not a good idea to play it with the voice, do you? Here
I will prefer the beeps (the numbers are a little bit too much). What do the
other think?

I personally would like the option of voice. A voice countdown would only
announce the numbers for the final countdown (10 9 8...). At that, voice is a
low priority and just having the beeps for the final countdown is adequate.
With or without the enhanced countdown, I anxiously await my Tatanis running
the incredible OpenTx.

i am not a fan of knowing about each second.
i am in stress if it beeps or count down very often :-)
then i let the decision about last ten voice/beeps to openrcforum users who
need it.

sorry if it's a little "off", but why my companion9X V1,28 does not give me the
R2430 to downlowd? it only give me the 2413. so i can't try if the issue is
solved.
i tried with 2 differents PC....

Because r2430 is not released as it needs a little bit more testing. And the
r2413 is not bad, almost no issue has been reported!

I will prefer remaining with 10bips on stock
And I will propose something better on ARM boards: a choice between Nothing /
3bips / 10bips / 3voice / 10voice

Bsongis idea sounds excellent. I would suggest implementing it if it is easy,
otherwise it can wait.

I would prefer voice for the countdown.. 10, 9, 8, 7.... etc. then beeping at
zero..

i finally tried the new count down with the 2491 firmware.
It works, but i think it must be changed again! ..... sorry!
the last bip at the end of the countdown is the same as the 10 one before, so
you can't know when the count down is finished
and the bips do no stop at the endof thecount down.... if you do nothing, you
still have one bip for each seconds..... so, again you can't know when the
count down is finished.
that's what we need:
- - - for 30 seconds
- - for 20 seconds
- 10s
- 9s
- 8s
- 7s
- 6s
- 5s
- 4s
- 3s
- 2s
- 1s
_________ 0s (a long one)
and nothing more

This seems to have some correlation to the voice problem I'm having. On sky9x
board, countdown results in
"30 Seconds"
"20 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
"10 Seconds"
Beep
Beep
Beep
I would prefer a voice countdown from 5 with only the numbers, but anything
seems better than repeating the same sound 10 times in a row.
Thanks!

This is already fixed in the LUA branch. It will be possible to choose between
Silent / Beeps / Voice countdown
