I'm using Taranis.

Firmware version: opentx-r2588, opentx-x9d-v1.0.0.00

EEPROM version: 215

Repro:
  1. turn on the power
  2. you'll see a gray bar at the top of the screen which affects the readability of text there.

Expected:
Remove the gray bar. At least provide an option to turn it off.

Issue has been fixed in the latest firmware available 2604 which allows
contrast setting.

openTx revision 2604 available from companion9x adds a contrast adjustment that
you can adjust to your specific display.

I've just received mine, and despite r2604 (great improvement), I too suggest
to purely remove greys.
Look at the servo monitor, with contrast 10 (bottom value), the title bar is
not uniform (darker or brigher between left and right...)
This choice let think that the LCD is poor quality (vs defective before)
Thanks for your work

The bar nice and subtle once the contrast is adjusted properly...
There have now been a couple of reports that 10 may not be low enough, so it
seems that sample variation is more than expected and adjsutment range simply
isn't enough. My radio is nice with 30, but 10-45 sure doesn't make a ton of
difference.
