There needs to be a dynamic section of the website that allows a user to publish monthly/regular blog posts. A suitable technical solution needs to be thought about. Possible use of GitHub json or markdown files that could be date sorted and displayed on the site.

Yes, in most instances it would. The aim would be to unpick them (and therefore bring an audience into the sources).
