Updated to use FK Grade - reduces reading age.
Tested with following text:
**'The term oncology literally means a branch of science that deals with tumours and cancers. The word “onco” means bulk, mass, or tumor while “-logy” means study.
Each of the cells of the body have a tightly regulated system that controls their growth, maturity, reproduction and eventual death. Cancer begins when cells in a part of the body start to grow out of control. There are many kinds of cancer, but they all start because of out-of-control growth of abnormal cells.'**
The local test application now shows 13.4, compared to the live tool 15.4.
Thanks Becky. I've checked in word and it comes out with the same kind of reading age (13.4) so that sounds good to me.
Could this be calculated using the FKGL instead? The reading age is essentially the FKRG score +5. It’s probably easier to do it in whole numbers rather than 10-11, 11-12 so I’ve put a column of whole numbers down the side. Not sure if this picture has pulled through.
